Lady Lavender is track number 1 on the album Harmonic Slice, though it was the last song to be recorded on the third day of recording. This song was written for my mother’s birthday. At the time I didn’t have much money to buy her something from a store, so on a bus ride home I started to write this song in my head. It came together very quickly. As part of the present I told my mom she could name the song. I also told her that normally for her birthday I would buy her something lavender scented. Together, we came up with name Lady Lavender.
