One of the newest songs on the album Harmonic Slice, A Fair World was written in two consecutive nights and left fairly unpracticed until the time of recording. This was to give it a slightly rough around the edges sound, and to go back to my roots of writing solely with melody and harmony without fancy techniques. This song is the only song where I use a flat pick instead of a thumb pick, even though flat pick is still my go to. It was the first recorded song for the album and the only one not recorded to a click. Its’ name comes from an album that inspired me at the time, Julian Lage’s “World’s Fair”, a beautiful album with great harmonies and melody.
